Dear Parents
RE: Home Schooling and or Lock Down Learning
To Clarify:
Home Schooling / Education means that a person wants to register a learner to school at home. This process must be done through the Department of Education and documents must be filled in and submitted to the Gauteng Department of Education.
The parent takes sole responsibility for the child’s education. Parents can log onto the school website: www.nellieswart.co.za Click on Home and scroll down. Here you can download the newsletter from SAOU with 3 links – Please read through and act accordingly. Departmental website is: http://education.gauteng.gov.za
Lock Down Learning: Remote teaching –
Parents who choose to keep their children at home and the school sends work to be done. These parents must also formally apply for this to be done. A form from school will be posted on the school website: www.nellieswart.co.za This form must be completed and emailed or delivered at school and the parents must apply online at the same place as for Home Schooling: http://education.gauteng.gov.za
Learners with Co-morbidities:
If there are learners with co-morbidities, the parent must submit a doctor’s certificate stating the illness and stating that the child is vulnerable and at risk if he/she should contract the covid virus. This must also be sent to school.
The school has to be informed formally of any of the above cases and we have to keep track of every child.
Parents can communicate with the school via telephone: 012 333 4981 or 012 333 9497 or email: info@nellieswart.co.za
Although we have children who are still at home and some attending school, the school still has its obligations to pay salaries and all services and extra expenses because of covid-19. We plea to our parents to please pay school fees. The financial situation is now really at a disastrous level.
We hope that we can count on all our parents to work together.
Kind Regards
Mr P Vermaak
